At the Marigold, we know how important ticket sales are. Tickets not only support our ability to maintain our organization and pay artists, but are investments into our cultural landscape. But you know what, sometimes we just need a great band, on a roof, and open to the public without a financial barrier. So this summer, we’re thrilled to have three amazing rooftop shows (If they get rained out, we’ll move them inside). Each long weekend this summer, we’re bringing an amazing performance to you: Rum Ragged & Fiddles and Feet, Ben Caplan, Mike Trask, Keith Hallett, and more to still be added. So join us this summer, sit out on our licensed front lawn, take in great music, bring your own chair. It’s going to be a good summer.

Rum Ragged

JUNO Award Nominees, Rum Ragged, take a bold approach to the distinct folk music of their home, the Eastern Canadian island of Newfoundland. With a reverence for their roots and a creative, contemporary edge, this young band has quickly become known as the finest performers of their great, living, musical tradition. Boasting bouzouki, fiddle, bodhran, banjo, guitar, and button accordion, these new champions of East Coast music enliven and enlighten audiences with their signature brand of Newfoundland folk. Always honest, thought-provoking, and often humorous, it’s Rum Ragged’s live show that makes them a fast favourite with any audience. Their combination of striking vocal harmonies, staggering musicianship, and captivating storytelling gives concert-goers an experience they won’t soon forget. Since their inception in 2016, Rum Ragged has maintained a rigorous tour schedule, performing at some of the world’s premier folk, celtic and roots venues all while managing to record four acclaimed, award-winning studio albums. Rum Ragged is not your run-of-the-mill folk band, they are the genuine article.

Fiddles & Feet

After a banner year in 2024 Fiddles & Feet are already ramping up for a great year in 2025! The same seven piece group will continue to bring their exciting and uplifting shows to venues around Nova Scotia. Fiddlers Alycia Putnam, Megan Washburn, Laura Watson & Gordon Tucker will "giv'er" on the celtic and downeast fiddle tunes backed by Rob Putnam, guitar, Randy Feener, percussion & Ben Tucker, bass. Our dancers, Megan & Alycia will bring the house down with their stepdancing and the voices of Laura, Megan, Gordon & Rob will blend in harmony and sing some great traditional & contemporary songs. Some highlights from 2024 were a 3 night run with capacity crowds at the Chester Playhouse, another appearance in the Halifax Celtic Festival, full houses at the Marigold Centre for the Arts, The Hall in Parsboro, Th'YARC, the Bicentennial Theatre, Sharon United Church in Tatamagouche and several conventions at Pier 21 in Halifax to name a few. It's the great response from our audiences that keeps Fiddles & Feet moving forward!
