We acknowledge that the Marigold Cultural Centre and Cobequid Arts Council operate in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq People. This territory is covered by the Treaties of Peace and Friendship with Mi’kmaq Peoples. We are all Treaty people. We would also like to recognize the historic communities of African descent in Mi’kma’ki, known as Nova Scotia. Their histories and culture are a key part of our province. We will continue to listen to the Black communities and work together to amplify marginalized voices.
