The Colchester Film Society is thrilled to continue our TIFF: Film Circuit screenings at The Marigold Cultural Centre with a movie made specifically for people who love the magic of the big screen: David Gleeson’s heartfelt and hilarious dramedy, Once Upon a Time in a Cinema!
Set in a cozy Irish town in the 1980s, the film follows Earl Clancy (played by the fantastic Colin Morgan), a cinema manager trying to survive the Friday night shift from absolute hell. In real tim, over the course of a single, chaotic 90-minute screening—Earl has to put out literal and figurative fires while deciding whether to sell his beloved theatre to a shady local politician.
