Art Camp with Kate Ward

Date: July 10-14
Morning Class: (9am-12pm) Ages 6-10
Afternoon Class: (1pm-4pm) Ages 11-15
Price: $100.00 + HST per participant

 

Explore your inner artist and let your creativity shine! Participants will create art using a variety of media including clay, sculpture, painting, print making and the magic of Tie Dye. At the end of the week, campers will exhibit their creations in an exhibition in the Marigold Centre Gallery. No experience necessary, all youth are welcome!

Kate Ward is an Australian interdisciplinary artist whose interests include textiles, ceramics, jewelry, printmaking and intermedia. She is currently interested in exploring the metaphysical concepts of space and time in her studio practice and the relationships between stone and the human-lithic development of the human mind. Kate is the recipient of numerous international scholarships, residencies and exchange programs. Her work has been selected for national and international exhibitions and awards. Her work is represented in national and international collections.

Musical Theatre & Drama Camp with Andrew Morrisey


Week 1: August 14-18 | 9am-4pm | Drama Camp
Week 2: August 21-25 | 9am-4pm | Musical Theatre
Price: $195.00 + per week

Do you love to sing, dance and act? Well, this is the camp for you!  We'll learn songs, scenes and dances, play theatre games and learn and rehearse a show to be presented for family and friends on the final day. Lots of fun! Lots of laughing is encouraged! Come to have fun and you just might discover some talent you didn't know you had!

Andrew Morrisey is a New York based actor, singer and teacher, originally from Truro. Andrew is a graduate of Sheridan College's Music Theatre- Performance program, as well as Circle in the Square Theatre School's acting program. In 2012, he attended the International Cabaret Conference at Yale University. He has been in countless musicals, plays and cabarets. His most recent cabaret was directed by Tony Award winner, Faith Prince. Presently, Andrew teaches singing lessons at two studios in the New York area.  His students have won countless awards, gained acceptance into top musical theatre schools and starred in regional and Broadway musicals. Having created and lead musical theater camps for nearly a decade, Andrew is excited to be back at the Marigold to teach these talented kids!

Paul Campbell is a well knownretired Maritime violinist, ex member of the National Arts Centre Orchestra, and the Brunswick String Quartet, winner (with the Saint John String Quartet) of an ECMA award, and a concert violinist.He loves teaching!

Watercolours with Nancy Crowe Samson

Have you ever wanted to try your hand at an art class and put some culture in your life?

Nancy Crowe Samson is a local artist who has been offering arts education courses at the Marigold for 7 years. In the workshop Nancy instructs a watercolour class on a weekly basis. Each session includes a weekly demonstration, one-on-one instruction and opportunity to try something new.


Marigold Ukulele Players

Join us and have a whole lot of fun playing your ukulele! Learn how to pick, strum, and sing as part of a band and if you want you can also be a soloist! Learn at your own pace and enjoy being part of a musical group!
