Exploring Acrylics with Jen Power
Mondays starting October 21
runs 6 weeks | 3:45 PM - 5:15 PM
Ages 7+ | $120 (supplies included)
Each week, the children will be guided through a relaxed, hands on activity and given adequate time and creative freedom to explore the medium. The focus of this series will be on the process of creating, fundamental skills, and harnessing creative inspiration.
Individual support will be available throughout the series. We will work on individual projects within a group setting, as skill levels vary.
A group workshop is a great way for youth to learn from one another, gain confidence in their abilities, and inspiration to learn new skills. A multi-age group is preferable as it provides diversity in skill set, interests and reduces a competitive atmosphere.
Drama Camp with Leana Todd
tuesdays starting september 24
3:45 PM - 5:00 PM
Ages 8+ | $150
Leana Todd is back! This September, she'll be leading youth through an adventure in Wonderland!
Leana has established her reputation locally as a theatre instructor who values and honours the contributions of youth. Her approach is to involve the youth in all aspects of production, as well as banking on the creativity of the participants to develop the final presentation.
Outcomes for this after school program include body and vocal development, character development, improvisation, production aspects such as lights and sound, as well as approaching and staging a script. As always, we will be confidence building, making new friends, working as a team and having fun!
This term's script will be an adaptation of Alice in Wonderland and all the participants will contribute to the development of the final presentation. This process is called a 'collective' or 'collaborative'.
Leana Todd is a theatre grad who worked in professional and independent theatre in Halifax for many years before returning to Truro 8 years ago where she now lives with her two crazy creative children and three cats.
