Paul Campbell is a well knownretired Maritime violinist, ex member of the National Arts Centre Orchestra, and the Brunswick String Quartet, winner (with the Saint John String Quartet) of an ECMA award, and a concert violinist.He loves teaching!

Design and print your own fabrics! In this course we will explore design using screenprinting and block printing and various resist methods to build up an image. This course will encourage artistic exploration of ideas translating them using the various print methods demonstrated. We cover basic colour theory to mix your own colours and experiment with transparent and opaque print pastes. The skills developed in this course can be applied in the studio or on the kitchen table. Suitable for all skill levels.

Furoshiki (traditional Japanese wrapping)

In this course we will experiment with different shibori (knotting, stitching and other resist dying techniques) using indigo dye on silk and cotton fabric squares to create furoshiki (Japanese wrapping cloths). Both beautiful and functional they can be used for a lunch bag alternative, a eco-wrapping technique, clothing garment, or incorporated into patchwork and other textile projects.

Have you ever wanted to try your hand at an art class and put some culture in your life?

Nancy Crowe Samson is a local artist who has been offering arts education courses at the Marigold for 7 years. In the workshop Nancy instructs a watercolour class on a weekly basis. Each session includes a weekly demonstration, one-on-one instruction and opportunity to try something new.

Join us and have a whole lot of fun playing your ukulele! Learn how to pick, strum, and sing as part of a band and if you want you can also be a soloist! Learn at your own pace and enjoy being part of a musical group!
